We do not do Lawn Care or Hardscaping.

Position Summary

The Horticultural Technician is responsible for maintaining and enhancing client gardens using best horticultural practices. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, professional garden services that align with The Cultivated Garden’s standards and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve client gardens using sound horticultural techniques.
  • Tree and Hedge Pruning.
  • Decorative Planters and in-ground annuals.
  • Planting and Installation, including bed prep (removing Lawn, cutting new beds, adding soil and aggregates etc).
  • Drive company vehicles.
  • Keep work vehicles clean, organized, and in good condition.
  • Consistently meet or exceed company standards for professional garden care.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Report to work on time, properly prepared with appropriate clothing, footwear, and personal items.
  • Uphold and actively engage with the company’s vision, values, and policies.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Display professionalism and respect toward clients, colleagues, and company property.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • College certificate in Horticulture or a related field preferred.
  • Valid Ontario G2-class driver’s license with a clean driving record is an asset.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficient in reading and writing English.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Skilled in performing manual duties related to grounds maintenance and horticulture, including planting and pruning.
  • Competent in the safe use of hand tools and gas/electric-powered equipment for professional grounds maintenance.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (wet, cold, heat, etc.).
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform tasks common to the landscaping industry, including lifting, bending, digging, and repetitive movements.
